Four Common Vaping Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Like most other beginner vapers, you are likely to encounter a problem or two as you learn how to get the most out of your vaping experience. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve with vaping, but fortunately, anyone can sail through the adjustment period and become a very satisfied vaper with a few tips. Here are some common problems you are likely to encounter and their solutions.
1. Treating vaping like smoking
Hopefully, your e-cigarette or vape mod will become an excellent substitute for traditional cigarettes – but that doesn’t mean that it works the same way. Instead of drawing on your device hard and fast the way you might with a cigarette, you want to take even, extended puffs for best results. And remember that it will most likely take some time to adjust to vaping. It can take a little longer with vaping to get the same amount of nicotine you would from a cigarette, so try to plan vaping sessions in advance if you can to avoid super strong cravings – because inhaling like crazy will get you nowhere with a vape.
2. Buying the wrong gear
Vaping is very much a game of choices. When you go to buy a vape online, you will immediately discover a world of options – too many to choose from, it may seem to a new vaper. It’s good to have lots of choices if you know what you’re doing. If you’re new, you could probably do with some clear advice on what to buy. First of all, there is no need to spend an exorbitant amount of money on your first vape – but you also should not buy the cheapest one you can find. Cheap, poor-quality vaping equipment will almost certainly malfunction quickly and, in the meantime, will make everything taste lousy. A high-quality yet simple vape such as the ePuffer XPOD is a great choice for a beginner.
3. Forgetting to charge your battery
If you’re a smoker and you forget your lighter, there is usually someone around who can bail you out. On the other hand, if you forget to charge your vape, there isn’t really much that you can do. A vape mod with a low battery won’t fire, and in most cases, there won’t be someone nearby with a spare one. The best way to avoid this issue is to make sure and allow plenty of time for charging before you go out or bring a power bank and your vape charger along with you so that you don’t get caught without a working device.
4. Always using the same e-juice
We get it – you found a flavour that you really love, and you want to stick with it. But do yourself a favour and switch things up now and then. Not only is it fun to experience new flavours (also a good way to find new faves, by the way), but alternating your vape juice will help you avoid another common vaping problem: using the same juice for so long that your taste buds lose the ability to recognize the flavour (also known as “vaper’s tongue”). You can make sure that this doesn’t happen to you by trying out several different flavours (or lots and lots of different flavours!), treating yourself to a new bottle of e-liquid on a regular basis. Don’t worry – your old favourites will always be there for you when you want them.
