Three components: a rechargeable battery in the stem, an atomizer holding the heating coil, and a tank for the e-liquid.The coil heats the e-liquid past its boiling point and it becomes vapour, which travels up through the stem to the mouthpiece. Nothing is burned, so there is no ember, no ash and no smoke.
The draw is deliberately tight - closer to a pipe than to a modern high-airflow vape - which is what makes the sipping motion of pipe use feel natural rather than forced. You fill the tank yourself from a bottle, so the flavour and nicotine strength are your choice each time rather than fixed by a sealed cartridge.

The 629 series has sold through and is being retired. Its successor, the ePipe 659, is in production now.What changes on the 659:
- Manual button firing with LED indication, rather than relying solely on draw activation - more control over when the coil fires and how long for.
- Full Churchwarden mouthpiece compatibility across the range. Worth noting for existing owners: the later batch of 629 X3 tanks is not Churchwarden compatible, and the 659 resolves that.
- The same hardwood construction and pipe proportions the 629 was built around.
If you own a 629, spares and replacement tanks continue to be stocked - the device is not being abandoned. We have supported e-pipe owners since 2007 and are not about to stop because a model number changed.

It is the blend most e-pipe owners settle on.
Nothing stops you filling the tank with anything else from our e-liquid range, and some owners keep two tanks for exactly that reason. But the pipe format and a tobacco blend were designed for each other.
Nicotine strengths run from 20 mg/mL - the Canadian federal maximum - down to nicotine-free.

That is not an impulse purchase, and it is not meant to be - these are hardwood devices with a serviceable tank system, sold in a wooden gift box with a manual, batteries and charger included.The comparison worth making is not against a $30 disposable but against a good briar / rosewood / ebony hardwood pipe, which occupies the same price bracket and the same place in a collection.
Running costs after the kit are e-liquid and the occasional tank or coil. Spares are stocked as ongoing lines - stems, tanks and replacement parts - so the pipe is repairable rather than disposable. Free shipping applies on orders over $100.

We stock spares for e-pipe models going back years, so a worn tank or a lost stem is a replacement part rather than a new pipe.
