• Should I use ePuffer parts in an ePuffer device?

  
  For coils, tanks and cartridges, yes. Those are matched to the specific device - resistance, airflow and thread all have to line up, and a generic part that physically fits may still run hot, leak, or perform poorly.

  Batteries and chargers are different. An 18350 or 18650 cell is an industry standard format, and a good third-party cell from a known manufacturer is often better than an unbranded one. What matters there is the specification, not the badge on it.

  The rule worth following: match the part to the specification your device needs, and buy from somewhere that tells you what that specification is. If you are not sure what your device takes, send us the model and we will tell you.
   

• Which battery charger do I need?

  
  It depends on whether your device has a removable cell.

  Removable cells - e-pipes and mods taking 18350, 18650 or 21700 batteries need a dedicated charger. The Nitecore NEW i2 dual slot at $24.95 handles two cells at once and adjusts charge current to the battery type, which matters because different lithium chemistries want different charging profiles. The UM2 is the USB-powered equivalent at the same price.

  Built-in batteries - pods and cigalikes charge over cable. A micro USB cable at $3.95, a universal AC/USB charger at $4.95, or a dual-port car charger at $4.95 covers it.

  Nitecore chargers carry a one-year warranty.
   

• How do I look after vape batteries safely?

  
  Lithium cells are safe when treated correctly and genuinely dangerous when they are not. Five things worth doing:

  • Never carry a loose cell in a pocket with keys or coins. A short across the terminals is how battery fires start. Use a plastic battery case.
  • Replace any cell with a torn or nicked wrap. The wrap is the insulation. A few dollars for a new cell against the alternative is not a close call.
  • Use a charger that matches the chemistry. This is what the Nitecore chargers do automatically and what a generic charger may not.
  • Buy cells in matched pairs for multi-battery devices, and keep each pair together. Mixing cells of different ages or charge states stresses the weaker one.
